Hereford Racecourse and Hereford Football Club have formed a successful new partnership, which sees the launch of their inaugural Academy Raceday on 4th November.

The raceday will raise awareness and funds for the club's Youth Academy. This nurtures and develops young football stars of the future, a crucial element for the club’s progress.

The raceday will hold football at its heart with a fun 'jockey vs footballer' penalty shoot-out at 13:30 before racing in the Parade Ring.  Hereford FC players will also be on hand throughout the day to meet with fans and racegoers.

Rebecca Davies, Executive Director at Hereford Racecourse commented, “I hope many Hereford FC season ticket holders will come and enjoy the day for free.  This marks  the start of a programme of events between both of the City’s sporting stadiums.”

General Manager of Hereford FC, James Watts, said, “This is a great opportunity for Hereford FC to promote the good work that is being done by our newly formed Academy, while raising funds for the continued development of our Academy product.  It’s an exciting partnership with our neighbours at the racecourse.”

As well as maintaining its existing partnerships, the Racecourse is delighted to announce two brand new ones: with Keltruck, the largest Scania distributor in Europe, which recently opened a new depot in Hereford and Jackson Property, one of Hereford’s longest standing independent property agents.

These are further positive steps for Hereford Racecourse, which is committed to championing local business. The Racecourse is continuing its association with Tallis Amos and has renewed contracts with Cotswold Mini and BMW and Central Roofing. Westerns Cider is also maintaining sponsorship of the owners and trainers’ bar and facilities.
