Style guidelines for your visit
There’s something special about dressing up for a day at the races, and while our dress code is relaxed, we do encourage guests to dress appropriately for the season.
With our races taking place between October and April each year, cosy layers and smart outerwear are highly recommended, and often admired!
Guests visiting our hospitality suites or the Rusty Bridge restaurant typically opt for more refined attire. We encourage gentlemen to attend in a shirt and tie, while ladies tend to wear something elegant or smart for these hospitality areas.
Tasteful fancy dress is welcome, but visitors wearing something deemed offensive or inappropriate will not be granted access to the premises.
The only firm rule we ask of our guests is to not attend wearing sporting team shirts or an offensive fancy dress costume. We strive for a relaxing, fun day out for everyone, and we want each guest to feel both comfortable, and suitably dressed for the occasion.
Please take note that our races at Hereford Racecourse take place between October and April, so make sure to wrap up warm for your visit.
Racegoers usually dress smartly when visiting our private boxes and the Rusty Bridge restaurant.
Fancy dress is permitted, however if deemed untasteful or offensive, access to the racecourse will be denied.
