Horse racing in February comes to Hereford Racecourse with an afternoon of jump racing on Wednesday 17 February. It's another Seasonal Afternoon Racing fixture, set in the Herefordshire countryside, and a proper winter afternoon out.
Cold air, the thud of hooves and a cheer that rolls along the rail as the runners come home. At Hereford you're close enough to feel it.
Midweek crowds are easy-going, so first-timers and regulars alike can wander down to the parade ring and pick a favourite before each race. Wrap up warm if you're heading trackside.
The Snaffles Restaurant has a three-course menu, reserved seating and table service, with a good view of the track. Bars and food outlets are open around the course too, with hot drinks and warming meals to keep the chill off between races.
Book ahead to secure your place. There are no booking fees when you buy direct online or by phone. Children aged 17 and under go free with a paying adult, so bring the family.
