An exciting new partnership with local Ledbury company Appliance Solutions, owned by Fiona Lewis, has led to a rejuvenation of Hereford Racecourse's public facilities.
Opening on Tuesday 15th October, by champion jockey Richard Johnson, 'The Hummingbird Bar' will present its fresh new look. This includes a longer bar area and improved food and drink offerings, with daily specials and promotions.
It also boasts updated toilet facilities that have doubled in capacity - complete with 'Birdie' artwork. The tongue-in-cheek Fillies and Colts paintings, on the toilet doors, are the latest commission in a string of artworks by the infamous racing artist 'Birdie', Darren Bird.
Fiona Lewis, owner of Appliance Solutions, says: “I am so thrilled to be sponsoring 'The Hummingbird Bar' at the Hereford Racecourse. The union between the Racecourse and my company shows you can advertise your business in a unique way and support your local community.
It is also exciting to see the bar named after, not only the icon in the Appliance Solutions Logo, but a poem that has always inspired me – The Hummingbird, by Richard Wilkins. The poem was the inspiration for the positive quotes placed around the bar area and we are thrilled at the result. It really gives the Racecourse a fresh new look for the season that we hope racegoers will enjoy.”
Rebecca Davies, Executive Director, comments: “We are delighted to be working with Appliance Solutions. Their enthusiasm for this project has been infectious and I really hope that racegoers will enjoy the improved ambiance and facilities this season.”
This new partnership further cements Hereford Racecourse in its local community, following a slew of local alliances in the last year.
