Get Here

As we are situated just 2 miles from the city centre of Hereford, our racecourse is easily accessible for all, whether you wish to travel by foot, car, bus, taxi or helicopter.

Travelling By Car

The nearest motorway network is the M50, with the racecourse being approximately 30 minutes from either J2 or J3, depending on your preferred route of travel. The racecourse is situated on the side of the A4103 just off the A49, while the well-known Starting Gate roundabout is just 400 yards from the racecourse.

If you are travelling to us by car, please use the racecourse postcode HR4 9QU.

Travelling by Train

Hereford has a good train network and is well connected to Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester and other major cities.

The racecourse is a 30-minute walk from the station, which can be done via an excellent new link road and walkway. If you walk right out of the main entrance of the station, instead of to the left, this links you to the main road, heading straight towards the course, just north of the football ground.

If you’d prefer to grab a taxi from the train station, this should take approximately 5-10 minutes to reach the racecourse (we highly advise pre-booking).

Alternatively, you can take the 74B bus service from the train station, which will stop right outside the racecourse.

Travelling By Bus

In Hereford, there is a regular local bus circular service. The no 492 Holmer and Bobblestock Circular runs regularly from the Maylord Shopping Centre, and stops at the Starting Gate Pub, a short walk from the racecourse entrance. This route takes approximately 8 minutes each way.

For local bus information including journey planners, you can visit https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/public-transport-1/bus-travel .

Entrance on foot can be made to either our Holmer Road entrance (next to Halo Leisure centre on Holmer Road) or our main entrance off Roman Road- both have a short walk to the turnstiles.

Travelling By Helicopter

If you’re travelling to Hereford Racecourse by helicopter, prior permission from racecourse management will be needed to authorise your landing. For more information, please call 01432 273 560 or email info@hereford-racecourse.co.uk.

Car Parking

Parking is provided free of charge at Hereford Racecourse, with two car parks available on Racedays. No pre-booking is required. On race meetings, stewards will guide you into the car parks as you approach the racecourse. Priority reserved parking is offered for Owners, Trainers and Jockeys with forward parking for blue badge holders.
